Access TV hard drive via Apple TV 4K?

I have a hard drive attached to my TV and can use the MEDIA PLAYER app from the Tv manufacturer to view and access media files just fine.

I normally have my smart TV default to Apple/Apple TV device OS and would like to access my media hard drive also through AppleTV 4K ... I could not see anything obvious. Is there an app to download you recommend?

(Yes, I use PLEX but the wifi to this TV is weak and poor and home sharing does not work (probably because I'm using an Intel Mac as my PLEX server or it's the weak wifi) But this way I have a backup of my media files so I don't mind the setup as is - just hoping there's an Apple TV player app that can see the hard drive?)
