New Macbook Air M3 and Issues with Finder

Old Macbook Air (2015) backed up to TimeCapsule without issues. I am having issues with Finder after migration assistant attempts to new Macbook Air M3 (2025) from my Time Capsule with my account only... not the test account set up with AppleCare support yesterday.

You're welcome.

I don't understand Finder "is not responsive".

Under normal circumstances, Finder is always running. The Finder icon in the Dock really does very little but present file access options when you right-click or control-click it. Does that not happen?

Can you navigate to different folders and files on your computer?

What is it that you expect to happen that is not happening on your Mac?

If a simple reboot of your Mac doesn’t fix things, see if the problem still happens in safe mode.

How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support

Safe mode will often correct weird software behavior by forcing the OS to do disk repair, clear caches and other housekeeping and temporarily disables third-party mods. When you're in safe boot, the machine won’t be at its best performance, especially with graphics, but that's expected.

Does the same thing happen while in Safe mode?

You can exit safe mode by restarting your Mac normally, then reevaluate the problem.
