Email images not loading in Mail App on MacBook Pro

I have a Macbook Pro 2019 running OS 13.6 and I'm having a problem with Mail. The emails I receive don't load the images and everything is blank. To see the content of the images I have to click on the blue checkmark to open the website and see the images. What could be happening? How do I fix this?

Likely it is the Mail app setting preventing remote content from loading. I am having the same issue. There used to be a "Load Remote Content" button at the top of the email, but that no longer appears. In the Privacy tab of Mail app settings, there are some protection options you can toggle and see if it changes the behavior but may reduce privacy protection. Not a fix but a work around, please be careful.
