Unable to transfer mails to new iPhone 16 Pro Max from old phone

My wife recently purchased a new iPhone 16 pro max. Everything from her old phone transferred to the new except her email. We’ve tried everything but she doesn’t receive any emails on her new phone.

The following should resolve any problems with iPhone email not working:

  1. Back up iPhone - Apple Support
  2. Update iOS on iPhone - Apple Support
  3. If the email account is iCloud: If iCloud Mail isn't working - Apple Support
  4. If the email account is any other account provider (e.g. Google, Microsoft, Yahoo, etc.) then continue below:
  5. Remove the email account: Add and remove email accounts on iPhone - Apple Support
  6. Restart your iPhone - Apple Support
  7. Add the email account back: Add and remove email accounts on iPhone - Apple Support

If Mail Won’t Sync Accross Devices…

Use a New App Password for Each Device:

Do you use an App Password? If so, try a new App Password. Create a unique on for each device. Remove the current one, and then use the new one instead. Sometimes, changes (i.e. updates) are made to the device, and then mail server syncing becomes an issue (which is what a new App Password it intended to fix).:

To send and receive email using the Mail app, you need to add the email accounts you want to use. When you first open Mail, you’re asked to set up an account. At any time, you can add additional email accounts to your iPhone, or remove email accounts you no longer need.

Add an email account

You can add one or more email accounts to the Mail app so that you can receive all your email in one place and easily send email from any of your accounts.

  1. Go to Settings > Apps > Mail.
  2. Tap Mail Accounts, then tap Add Account.
  3. Tap the email service you want to use—for example, iCloud, Microsoft Exchange, or Gmail (Google)—then enter your email account information.
  4. If your email service isn’t listed, tap Other, tap Add Mail Account, then enter your email account information.

Note: If you set up multiple accounts, you can choose which account you want to send from when composing your email message.
