the moon phase calendar on the iPhone is showing the correct phase in the big picture, but in the calendar below, it shows the opposite: eg. the new moon is white and the full moon is black (so the 12th of the moon, which is full moon, and it looks like a black moon)

Getting the Moon Phases Correct:



  • Be signed in to the same Apple ID on each device.


  • Restart each device, seeming it the moon phases show as they should.

thanks for that - syncing doesn't seem to resolve it: the representation on my macbook is correct, but incorrect on the phone

Do your Part: Provide Apple with feedback on your findings, letting them know about this issue.  Apple may not get back to you directly, but the more feedback they receive on this, the more they will know what is occurring, and what bug fixes to include in updates to come. Apple will know nothing of this, if you don't report it to them.

  1. Go Here: Feedback - iPhone - Apple
  2. Select: "Bug Report" for the "Feedback Type"
  3. Comment: on when this all began, and steps on how they can come across this. Include the URL of this thread.
  4. Proceed from there as necessary
