Yes.

• Open the mail app, then tap the circle at the top with three dots and tap List View.
• Next, open Settings App, then go all the way to bottom and tap Apps. Find and Tap Mail and turn off Show Contact Photos.

Your mail app will be as it was before.

I’m having the same problem on both my personal and work IPad. Unfortunately the circle with the three dots, when it’s pressed on customize tool bar pops up. It did show list view when I was trying to revert back for my text messages however
