How can I use BitLocker encryption on MacBook Pro?

Hello,

Do I assume BitLocker encryption is not possible in an old 2012 Intel MBP's W10 Pro. Boot Camp with macOS Mojave v10.14.6? W10 said it needed TPM hardware device. It did mention a policy method without it. Is that safe and easy to do?

Thank you for reading and hopefully answering soon. :)

You can use policy edit method as outlined in the following post on the MS forum:

https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/how-to-set-up-bitlocker-on-a-pc-without-tpm/021b394b-7860-4b58-b502-117bc656ed73

The only risk is if you lose the recovery key or the USB stick containing the key. If you forget or lose either one, then you will lose access to the data stored on the encrypted volume.

FYI, just make sure to never adjust either the macOS partition or the Win10 partition or you will render your Windows installation unbootable.

Also, make sure you have a good backup of the data stored on your Windows installation if that data is important to you.
