Compilation albums appearing multiple times with only 1 track

My compilation albums are appearing multiple times in my Music library on my iPhone. Each version of an album contains only 1 song. It looks like the app is not grouping all the tracks by the album name alone, but grouping the tracks by album name and track artist.

The compilation albums appear correctly in the library on my Mac Mini.

The syncing process seems to be causing these issues on my iPhone.

Is there any way to easily fix this issue as I have about 1000 cds digitised in my library?
