How can I add Gmail to iMessage?

What do you mean by adding Gmail to iMessage? You can send and receive messages to any Apple Account and if that Apple Account is a Gmail address, then it will work like any other email address associated with your Apple ID. You cannot send iMessages to an email address that is not an Apple ID, whether it is gmail or not.
