VTDecoderXPCService memory leak when waking Mac from sleep

After waking my Mac from sleep, I’ve noticed that VTDecoderXPCService’s memory usage grows uncontrollably, sometimes exceeding 10GB. iStats Menu shows that WallpaperVideoExtension has the same memory usage as VTDecoderXPCService (see attached picture).

This issue often results in my Mac becoming unresponsive, forcing me to perform a restart. The problem is particularly noticeable when connecting my Mac to multiple displays and waking it up. It seems that WallpaperImageExtensionmight be leaking memory while displaying dynamic wallpapers.

I knew this was happening regularly, so I tried force quitting the VTDecoderXPCService process. However, this didn’t free up the memory—instead, the process name changed to kernel_task. In the end, I still had to perform a force restart.
