How can I fix screen saver issues on Apple TV 4K?

Over the last couple of weeks the Apple TV 4K kept glitching with the screen savers. It would show one of the Ariel footage ones and then go black.

when you tired to go back on the Apple TV it would crash the radio etc.

took to Apple Store Westfield Shepherds Bush to Genius Bar dealt with Sam. He recommended resetting it. Reset it in the store.

got home and reinstalled everything. Now. What happens is even worse. The Apple TV will play the radio and the screen saver but after a while instead of going black. The Apple TV will just shut down. Sam at the Apple Store said nothing to do apart from raise the problem with Apple direct. How does that help me the customer with a faulty Apple TV?????!!!!!

The Apple TV will just shut down.

Please verify the setting for automatic sleep when ‘idle’:

Does it behave differently when set to ‘Never’?

Did the Store staff see the described behavior happen, or did they advise only on your description? In general, it is conceivable that an error is not reproducible in a different environment/setup, so that distinction may be important (possibly indicating a factor other than just the Apple TV box).

I am not experiencing what you describe on my Apple TV box. What radio app were you using? (Perhaps that is of influence?)

The sleep setting is on never so it never goes to sleep. We turn it off when we are not using it.

on the back of this Sam said there was nothing else that Apple could do apart from raise the issue with Apple and see if they can come up with a bug fix.

so we have a glitchy Apple TV with no help from Apple as per Sam’s explanation. Great!!!!. Apple has gone down hill a long way over the last few years.
