Iphone 15 plus camera problem

I did tell you.😀 The lens doesn’t focus as close as previous models. Your camera takes macro or closeup images, but from a little further away.

All lens have a minimum focus distance. For example my $5000 Canon R3 with a $1400 1X lens doesn’t focus any closer than about 16” or 40cm.

Think about it. Apple has enabled an under $1000 iPhone camera to take pictures my $6400 camera can’t.

If you need macro images, consider purchasing a third party macro lens. Some of the better lenses are by Moment and Reeflex.

Do you have the macro mode set to automatically engage? Please follow this path,

iPhone > Settings > Camera > scroll down > Macro Control > switch on

Once on, you’ll see a yellow macro symbol in lower left corner indicating the camera is in macro mode. If the macro symbol is not yellow, tap the button.

Yes, the iPhones 24mm 1X lens does not focus as close as previously. Camera specs do change from time to time and features do change. Unfortunately Apple doesn’t publish many specs for the different camera models.
