Screen record starts on its own

I was watching a TV show on my 14 Pro Max, when suddenly my screen record showed up at the top of my screen and then a square box in the middle popped on my screen, which said “cannot screen record”. I had not been using screen record prior to this. Why did this happen?

Hey! 😊 That’s strange! Here are a few possible reasons why your iPhone started screen recording on its own:

1️⃣ Accidental Activation – You might have accidentally triggered Screen Recording from Control Center (swiping down from the top-right).

2️⃣ App Restrictions – Some apps (like Netflix, Apple TV, or banking apps) block screen recording, which is why you saw the “Cannot Screen Record” message.

3️⃣ Software Glitch – If you recently updated iOS, a minor bug might have caused this issue. Try restarting your iPhone and checking for any new updates.

4️⃣ Accessibility Settings – Check if you have any Back Tap gesture enabled (Settings → Accessibility → Touch → Back Tap), as it might be triggering Screen Recording.

5️⃣ Possible Malware or Profile Issue – Unlikely, but if this happens frequently, check for any unknown VPNs or Profiles in Settings → General → VPN & Device Management.

🔹 How to Fix It?

  • Restart your iPhone.
  • Go to Settings → Control Center and remove Screen Recording if you don’t use it.
  • If it happens again, try a Reset All Settings (Settings → General → Transfer or Reset iPhone → Reset → Reset All Settings).

Hope this helps!
