Pixelmator Pro: missing application library folder in iCloud Drive

Hi everyone, I bought Pixelmator Pro from the AppStore.

But after the installation the app didn’t create the application library folder with the icon in my iCloud Drive, like apps Pages, Shortcuts, etc.

How do I create the application library folder in iCloud Drive for Pixelmator Pro?

I have macOS Sequoia 15.3.

Thank you very much.

You do realize that any file or folder on the iCloud Drive is mirrored on your Mac's internal drive in the Home/Library/Mobile Documents folder.

You are not saving space by storing files in the iCloud Drive. You've just making them available to other devices that are signed into the same iCloud Account.

So if you don't need to access the files in that folder from another device just create the folder in your Documents folder and use it.

Do I need both Pixelmator Pro and Photomator?

Photomator and Pixelmator Pro work great independently for specific editing workflows, but they have also been designed to work beautifully together. Both apps offer seamless edit syncing through iCloud which makes it super easy to round-trip between them – for example, you can edit a photo, then send it to Pixelmator Pro to add some text, shapes, paint on it, and more.

The current stable release of Sequoia including bug fixes, security updates is macOS 15.3.1

Hi, I already tried. It doesn’t work.

Sorry, I don't know what you mean by that. Did it not come up to the Pixelmator Pro folder by default? You couldn't choose the Pixelmator Pro folder in any of the multiple selection dialogs in the save panel?

There may be multiple ways to access the folder, depending on your settings. Here's one example where it should always be available:

It may also be visible in the sidebar. And you can click on iCloud Drive to access it in yet another way.

Do you have any of those folders? If not, did you try restarting.

I don’t know what sidecars are.

Sidecar files are something different. You can click on the "?" button in the lower right corner to find out more. But that's a relatively advanced topic. Focus on getting iCloud Drive working properly first.

Thank you very much for your reply and attachments.

Pixelmator Pro on my Mac didn’t create its own folder in iCloud Drive by default, not even creating a first file.

Meanwhile, I created a temporary folder "Pixelmator_" in iCloud Drive, but it is not a library application. (see attach).

However, in my iCloud configuration, Pixelmator Pro is listed among the apps that sync with iCloud (see second attach).

I tried to follow your instructions.

How do I access the iCloud Library?

How did you get the Application Library of Pixelmator Pro into iCloud Drive, with the app icon?
