How can I troubleshoot iPad's unresponsive bluetooth connection with zagg rugged keyboard?

Trying to connect my zagg rugged keyboard to my iPad. It refuses to connect and it will disappear and it won’t see it anymore. And please don’t tell me to make sure it’s close enough to the IPad. It’s a keyboard and it’s attached to the iPad.

And yes, I have restarted everything. I used to think it was the keyboard, but my iPad should be seeing multiple Bluetooth devices and it doesn’t see anything it just spins.

I was able to get it to work but wanted to give an update because I’ve seen a lot of questions about this device and Bluetooth.

When I open up Bluetooth on the iPad, I see one keyboard. I select the device to connect it, it just disappears. Nothing ever happens.

To get it to show up again,, I have to press the power button on the keyboard and then I have to turn off Bluetooth on the iPad and turn it back on. Still only one keyboard shows up, but the keyboard has two Bluetooth buttons labeled one and two. It seems that if I can keep pressing buttons on the keyboard until I see two keyboards in the iPad, if I select the second keyboard in the list, it will connect.

It also seems to help if I turn off my mouse first. It’s a pebble i345.
