Apple Approval Notice

We have noticed that your Apple iCloud id was recently used at "APPLE STORE - CA" for $143.95, paid by Apple Pay Pre Authorization. Also some suspicious sign in request and apple pay activation request detected. That looks like suspicious to us. In order to maintain the security and privacy of your account we have placed those request on hold. Your Photos, Data, Bank Information and Cards are at risk. If NOT you? talk to an Apple Representative. Failing may lead to auto debit and charge will not be reversed. Call +1 80****71 immediately to cancel this charge.

That is a prevalent scam attempt that has been going around for a while. Do not interact with the message.

There are even a few ways you can tell it is a scam. "'Apple iCloud id", "Apple Pay Pre Authorization"?

That's a scam! Here's what will happen if you call the number:

  1. A fake "technician" will request remote access to your computer
  2. They will run a fake "virus scan" and say your computer is infected
  3. The fake technician will charge an outrageous price for bogus "cleaning services"
  4. They might even steal your passwords using the remote access software, or disable your computer until you pay a ransom!

The easiest way to avoid the scam is block the number and delete the message. As long as you don't install any software on the computer, they can't get access.
