Dropbox link behavior in Apple Mail for iPad / Downloading Dropboxes to Files app

In Mail on my 10" iPad, when someone has emailed to me a Dropbox link and I tap on it, the iPad used to hand off to a web page in Safari, where I could preview the Dropbox files and decide if I wanted to download them locally. When I downloaded the Dropbox folder, it would appear in my Files, where I could easily find it.

However, at some point recently Mail's behaviour changed. Now, when I tap on a Dropbox link, it opens the Dropbox app. There, if I want to save the files locally, I can do that, but then they are saved in my Dropbox, somewhere among many hundreds of folders -- and it might as well be lost in the ocean, as I will never find it again.

I gather that this is a behaviour many users have requested, but I would rather have these downloads in my Files app. Is there a way to force Dropbox to put them in Files? Or some way to force Mail to open the link in Safari, like it used to?
