If I turn my watch off and on again/hard reset, it will charge for a min or so and that stops. I have checked plugs and chargers so know it is the watch itself that is having the problem.

Did you check the Battery Health in Settings/Battery?
If it is below 80%, the battery needs to be replaced.
In any case, you should get your watch diagnosed by Apple. Either visit an Authorised Apple Service Provider/Appel Store next to your place, or contact the official Apple Support about that, they can diagnose your watch online.

Has the battery of your Apple Watch ever been replaced?
Are you using the original USB charging cable that came with the watch and an Apple power adapter?

Mark, the Apple Watch does not have a charging port. It uses a MagSafe charger. So there's no port to clean. And it's not possible for a user to change the battery (at least not without a great deal of effort). The battery is not intended to be user-replaceable.

I never use apple watches really, but a solution is that you might need to clean the charging port, if that does not work, try changing the battery. If that does not work, then hand it to an apple expert.

Thanks for your reply. I lost my original charger annoyingly but I have tried 2 different chargers and have tried a different watch on them so it’s not the chargers that are the problem.
