If you click on the Desktop Command J opens the preference pane...make some changes:

Thanks, that's what I was looking for. I put those little icons back where they belong. Now, if they will just stay put! I had already shut down the Stage manager, but had little gremlins moving my icons. I love lots of things about this computer, but looking for my files was getting to be problematic.
Well, I'm running a MacBook Pro M1 Max on 15.3.1 and those settings aren't keeping my mounted volumes from moving around. Anybody else have any ideas? Honestly, I know this a small thing, but it is infuriating to put something somewhere and it get moved around. It seems like it happens on some cycle. For example, If I put the icons where I want them, they will stay there while I'm working on the computer, but when I come back, they have moved.
