How can I get a refund for unwanted app charges from the App Store?

I downloaded the FAX app in December. I used the app one time and since that time I have had eight charges of $10.81. I have no idea what it’s for and I finally called Apple however they did not get a refund for me the girl that answered the phone said I would get a refund and then I got an email that it was declined. I have since turned the issue into PayPal. Has anyone else had issues? And if so, how did you get them resolved?

If this was a free trial, it would need to be cancelled at least 24 hours before it expired in order to not be charged.

Else: Seems you have a subscription to the app, with regular charges

ie: If you haven't:

You may still need to cancel the subscription if it is active, in order to not be charged in the future.

If Apple merely passed your payment on to a third-party for you, (much like a bank does) then Apple doesn't have your money in order to refund it. (ie: Your app transaction is not the same as purchases of Apple's own products.)

We are all Apple users, like yourself, in this community, so we don't know what feedback is sent to Apple.

People often do make mistakes of one kind or another with subscriptions (subscribing by accident / not cancelling an unwanted subscription etc.). Am surprised you allowed the charges to re- occur for quite awhile before taking action.

If the company that charged you (via Apple) is at fault:

As far as I know: The best source of help for a product not made by Apple (a third-party product) is the company or person who made it—its vendor or developer:

You can: Contact a third-party vendor - Apple Support

or

If you have concerns, and if (after contacting the vendor or developer of the app,) you haven't been able to negotiate a satisfactory result, or a refund:
