When I click “link this tablet to my phone”, it pops up a QR code, and when I scan it, it says “no usable data found”. The screen says “call and text on other devices”. Below it, it has the link button and my Samsung account.

Sorry, but you cannot connect an iPhone to a Samsung Tablet. You can use the Hotspot of your iPhone if your carrier supports Hotspot service and you pay for the service to provide a Wifi Hotspot from your iPhone to your tablet. But conventional pairing is not a feature which works iPhone to Samsung Tablet.
