Why apple knocks of apps on unsupportive devices so quickly!

To this date I still use an iPad Air 2 that’s badly cracked since 2016. But the thing is when iOS 17 came out Netflix stopped being supported on iOS 15 devices and made Netflix obsolete and unable to download and now iOS 18 has come out iOS 16 devices are not supported with Netflix. I mean come on apple and Netflix they need to sort this. But if you go to the App Store and click on you icon and tap purchased then yourself and then Search then Netflix it will ask to download an older version of Netflix and then you will be good to go!

No Apple employees participate in these fellow user-supported public communities and Apple will not see your post. As fellow users, we cannot speak for Apple or Netflix or respond to "why" questions such as you ask here.

As long as Netflix meets the iOS/iPadOS App Store acceptance policy, Apple is not engaging with Netflix on how to internally develop their application beyond providing them the iOS/iPadOS Developer kit to build that application.

Since Apple is continuously updating or deprecating features in those Developer kit frameworks that Netflix uses, apart from Netflix's custom frameworks, it stands to reason that older operating system support will suffer since it may not support those newer frameworks. There also is not a stampede of new buyers for iPad 2 devices, so you know the answer to that.
