Pages 09 Files with MacOS Sequioa

My grandfather is looking to upgrade from a 2012 imac to a 2024 mac mini. He currently uses Pages '09 for a word processor. Will the version of Pages available with MacOS Sequioa open the old files?

There should not be any problem. It will ask if you want to upgrade the document or edit a copy.
