The 10th generation iPad doesn't use Lightning cables for charging, it uses USB-C.


As for 'size', what do you mean? Length? power rating?


Cable length is... well... whatever you want. if you want a short cable, get a short cable. If you want a long cable so you can plug in at the wall while lounging on the bed, get a long cable. Your choice.


If you mean power - pretty much any USB-C cable will handle the same 20W power supported by the standard wall charger. There are higher-rated USB-C cables (labelled PD for Power Delivery) which can provide significantly more power (to to 240W), but that's overkill for an iPad. In either case, your wall charger is likely to set the limit on how much power can be delivered. If it's a standard 20W supply, then pretty much any USB-C cable will do.
