Issues on my iPhone 12 Pro after updating to iOS 18.3.1

Since completing the update I cannot control downtime for my children's phones through Family in settings, it just freezes. I have figured out a workaround, but it is very annoying. Apple TV app won't even load, just goes to a white screen and freezes. Settings takes forever come up and trying to do anything takes a long time with lagging. And all the while the battery is getting HOT when it never did that before. I have restarted my phone multiple times and have checked for updates for the apps not working, including Apple TV, I have done all the trouble-shooting things and nothings fixes the issues. When is Apple going to fix the multiple problems this update has caused? I have noticed that I am not the only one having issues, this is VERY FRUSTRATING.

Since installing the 18.3.1 update to my iPhone 16 Pro and to my iPad Pro Gen 3, I’ve been experiencing an array of strange issues. These include random application freezes, refusal to charge (plugging into known working cables and power supplies), map overlays not showing up. In each case, the problems resolve after shutting down the device and rebooting. The only common factor in both the IOS 18.3.1 and iPad OS 18.3.1 is length of time running. I normally keep my devices alive 24/7. If I’m not using them, they are in sleep mode or on a charger. I only rarely restart them except after an update or after a rogue application hangs. These instances are becoming more frequent the longer the update is out. The non-charging is clearly an Apple issue, not a hardware issue since it occurs on two different devices of different generations purchased at different times and running perfectly before the update. The map issue is an Apple issue since it again occurs with different devices. The freezing can occur with just about any random application and more randomly - I.e. anytime.

i know several other people experiencing similar weird issues, and others.

it is hard to report these as bugs as there are no diagnostics associated.

Ur phone data has a bug u picked up on a website , phishing email or link u clicked on w text. That kernel can stay w the phone since u granted it access. You would more than likely have to upload all to I cloud and reset the entire phone to solve the problem .

18.3.1 iPhone XR

issues with update, as well. I should be able to set common defaults, not

With me, and in particular with my SE 3, I gotta say I am disappointed. The tapping function (2x / 3x) no longer seems to work, despite being active. Whether for control centre activation or to take a Screenshot, it doesn't work anymore. Interestingly I noted the battery consumption in the background has too, increased. And the other thing among the many here highlighted by unhappy people, is the ability to stream vídeos (YouTube, Netflix, Amazon) sideways on both sides. Now streaming full screen works in one direction, whereas prior to this, you could swing your phone both sides and the screen would adapt to your orientation.

All in all, an important safety update, but at a costly price for other funcional properties.

Please dont be rookies peeps. You can do so much better than this.

Currently, my Apple Journal app actively automatically changes my medication journal hourly recording into formatting mode right after I mark the numbers and either hit space on the iPhone virtual space bar between AM and PM or put a space after those two and start the first writing down notes. Also, if I return later on the same date(s), the messaging automatically turns into format mode, and my hourly records previously written turn on all the hours into numbered bullet points, and when I turn it off, it washes out the previous hour numbers.

I need this resolved as it is integral to my personal healthcare. My primary doctor directed me to utilize an app to take notes, and this was the first thing I saw on my iPhone.

After the update my iPhone(15 pro) is not validating my eSIM and as it’s a US model I don’t have the option of using physical sims. I went to Apple Store and they told that they have to replace my phone for 600pounds!

Its crazy!!

Is there anyone who is facing a similar issue?

Yes, I updated two nights ago (Feb26, '25. Went to turn off my phone last might. Screen frozen ever since. Tried everything. Phone locked. Screen not responding to touch without its cover. My computer does not recognize the phone to restore settings. Going to an Apple Store today. Maybe the solution is a new phone. Hmmm.

Same here.

I updated my iPhone 13 to iOS 18.3.1 and many issues haven’t been fixed.

Siri doesn’t speak to me, even if preferred spoken responces are on, she just sends me visual responces.

VoiceOver randomly cuts out while reading continuously any Web page that has a video playback view.

I keep getting delayed notifications in some apps.

The list goes on.

How can I fix these issues effectively? Erasing all settings doesn’t fix anything

aubreyg ~ Your iPhone 12 Pro Max could be 4½ years old and the long process of applying an iOS update to an iPhone with a weak, aging battery can be the proverbial "straw that broke the camel's back." Also, overheating whilst charging is often a sign of a battery issue. So...

Does your iPhone 12 Pro Max still have its original battery?

And what's the Maximum Capacity % here?...

I’ve also experienced several issues following the iOS 18.3 and 18.3.1 updates, with Maps on my device having no directional audio through CarPlay since the initial 18.3 updates. A far more critical issue that I’ve been working with Apple, my carrier, and ISP over the last few weeks on has been my employer implementing a form of mobile device management on my personal iPhone 13 without my permission. February 25th, 2025 appears to have a security update showing triangulation through iCloud with use of internal home network LAN IP addresses and external VPN connectivity. From what I’ve read, it appears others are able to use the 172.xxx. LAN IP scheme to redirect iPhone internet traffic to a configured VPN tunnel. Would appreciate any additional information on this, as I’ve been dealing with a similar problem for over two months. It began with my employer implementing an AOVPN on my home network.

All of a sudden, none of my charging cords are working. This is not my outlet. This is not my cord. This is not my USB being dirty. It’s not my phone being dirty. It’s people working at Apple that don’t have their act together, constantly changing things without asking. This needs to stop you need to do an update so I can charge my freaking phone. This is outrageous.!

This weekend both my iPhone 12 pro and my iPad cannot connect to my email and I cannot log back into mail. I use Office 365 hosted through Godaddy. Godaddy has identified that this is an issue with the latest upgrade and have reported it to Apple.....
