I have a question about the Logic Pro recording error issue.

I am using Logic Pro 11.12 on a MacBook M4 Pro (Sequoia 15.31, RAM 48GB).

When I click the recording shortcut key (r), shift + r, and the recording button for midi work, the data before 1 measure is deleted and recorded.

This phenomenon suddenly appeared yesterday.

I want to know how to solve it.

Hi there,

A Logic Pro recording error message usually indicates a problem with your audio input settings, such as a mismatch between the sample rate of your project and the sample rate of your audio interface, a faulty microphone connection, or an issue with the selected input device in Logic Pro itself; common error messages might include "Error while trying to synchronize audio" or a message stating that the sample rate recognized doesn't match your project settings.

Potential causes and solutions:

  • Sample Rate Mismatch:
    • Check your settings: Go to "File > Project Settings > Audio" in Logic Pro to ensure your project's sample rate matches the sample rate of your audio interface.
    • Adjust interface settings: Access your audio interface's control panel to verify and adjust the sample rate if necessary.
  • Incorrect Input Device:
    • Check input selection: In Logic Pro, go to "Logic Pro > Preferences > Audio > Devices and make sure the correct input device is selected.
    • Check microphone connection: Verify that your microphone is properly connected to your audio interface and that the microphone is powered on.
  • Audio Buffer Size:
    • Adjust buffer size: If you experience latency issues, try lowering the buffer size in Logic Pro's audio settings.
  • Device Conflicts:
    • Close unnecessary applications: Shut down any other applications that might be using your audio interface to avoid conflicts.
  • Overloaded CPU:
    • Close heavy plugins: If your computer is struggling to process audio, try disabling or reducing the number of plugins used in your project.

Other potential error messages:

  • "Cannot record audio":
  • This could mean your input level is too low or your microphone is not selected as the input source.
  • "Audio synchronization error":
  • This usually occurs when the sample rate of your project doesn't match the sample rate of an external device you're trying to record from.

What to do if you encounter a recording error:

  • Check your settings:
  • Double-check your audio input device, sample rate, and input level in Logic Pro.
  • Restart your computer and Logic Pro:
  • Sometimes a simple restart can resolve temporary issues.
  • Update Logic Pro:
  • Ensure you are using the latest version of Logic Pro to benefit from bug fixes.
