How to sync old iPod touch wirelessly with Mac?

My iPod touch 3rd Generation has not been backed up to iTunes since I purchased it because it would backup to iCloud until Apple's recent changes ending iCloud support for older devices. I was hoping to use the backup to restore it onto another device, but my iPod's 30-pin connector will not function properly and is not registering that it is plugged into the computer (honestly, the iPod doesn't even register it is charging, but the battery does indeed charge). I did not think to turn on iTunes Wi-Fi Sync when my iPod was working properly, and now I am not sure if there is any way for me to back it up... any suggestions?

The Computer needs to detect the iPod at least once to turn on Wi-Fi sync.

On a newer Mac the iPod should appear in Finder under Locations assuming the "CDs, DVDs and iPods" option is checked in Finder's Settings.

No. The option is turned on for the specific iPad when it's detected over a usb cable. It needs to be connected through a Usb cable once to turn on the feature.

Is the "CD's, DVD's and iOS devices" setting checked in the Finder Menu ➜ Settings ➜ SideBar?

Like I said before, I believe the issue may be with the iPod’s 30-pin connector. I have checked the finder when connecting the iPod before on my Mac (it is running Sonoma) but it wasn’t even registering on the iPod. The situation is similar on windows, as it is not detected by the PC or iTunes. And just for clarification, I have used several cords.

It is possible the iPod's port has been damaged. Does it not charge either when connected?

On a PC, a small device icon should appear in iTunes, unless you have downloaded any of Apple's other apps like TV, Apple Music or the Devices App.

If you have any of the stand alone apps, iTunes is then limited to Podcasts and Audiobooks and syncing and settings for the iPad are then done in the Devices App.
