Why can't I save changes to multiple song info in Music app for CD-added albums?

When I try to edit info for multiple songs in the Music app (formerly iTunes), the changes don't save. I get no error message or anything. I just click done, the pop-up goes away, but then I see the changes don't take effect. I've gone through the permissions in the iTunes folder and all subfolders and updated them to Read and Write, made sure locked is unchecked but still not changes. I'm not sure what to do. I even tried restarting the computer to see if it was the Music app maybe not reading the data on the file correctly and forcing it to check again by restarting but this does not help either. Any suggestions?
