How do I prevent Apple ID conflicts between family members?
when I change my Apple ID my daughter then can't sign in so she changes the id which then means I can't sign in

On what device? Your MacBook Air?
From your brief description it appears that your Mac has one user account and on that Mac user account you are flipping between using your Apple Account and your daughter's Apple Account.
To avoid this you would need to establish a second user account on the Mac, (perhaps for your daughter?) and once she has logged into that user account on the Mac then sign into iCloud.
Add a user or group on Mac - Apple Support
Each user account can sign into their own iCloud account, but I recall that only one can make use of Find My on the Mac
If this is not what is happening post back with the detail that is absent in your question.

See also Authorization vs. association - Apple Community. Even with multiple user profiles your computer might get locked to one Apple ID or the other for music.
