Is Turbotax 2024 compatible with Mac OS Sequoia

I would like to buy Turbotax 2024 software but I'm unsure that it will work with Sequoia.

Has anyone else purchased the product with success in using it?

Thanks!

I used TurboTax to complete my taxes on a MacBook Pro running MacOS Sequoia (15.3.1). No problems with the application.

TurboTax Premier does not download on my iMac 24” using Sequoia 5.3.1. Ironically I purchased the iMac in late 2023 because the OS my iMac 27 could not be upgraded to use TurboTax and the 2023Turbotax worked well. I have spent many hours on the phone with both Apple and Intuit customer support only to concluded the the desktop versions of TurboTax are not compatible with Sequoia on a M3 iMac 24.

What happens when you try? If you cannot download from the TurboTax website, then that is an issue with the site. Compatibility would only come in play when trying to run the file that was downloaded. Their website may prevent downloading when using a VPN if they want to restrict access to US customers, but not sure if that is the case for TurboTax.

I have downloaded Home & Business using Sequoia and already filed 4 returns. I do have a different Mac model, but I don't think the is the reason why you cannot download it.

When using with Mac sequoia certain functionality not working, like entering cost basis when banks leave it out

I would suspect that is not a Sequoia issue and one that would be resolved by Intuit in an update. Changing the imported data has not been possible. Intuit has identified the issue with the incorrect cost basis when importing the data and advises to either delete it and reimport or delete and enter the numbers manually. That one is not specific to Sequoia.

I would install it from the disk image again. On first launch, it took an unusual amount of time to complete the install and bring up the initial page.

  • How long did you wait?
  • Did it install any updates after launch?
  • Do you have an Internet connection when running for the first time? It would be odd that no updates were installed as I have had 3 of them already.
