Anyone else having false charges on apple pay today?

In a game I play, I made one purchase for $0.99 and one for $2.99. Shortly after I got a receipt saying I spent $27.92 and when I called the automated voice said it was two charges, one for $0.99 and one for $2.99 for a total of $27.92. I called my bank and they said that a dozen other people had called with problems with Apple Pay just today. I’m wondering if other people are having this problem and if Apple is going to do anything about it because frankly I’m scared to use Apple Pay for anything now

iPhone XR, iOS 18

Apple usually delays billing for small charges several days. The $27.92 is a charge from several days ago. You’ll need to contact Apple using the link below.

If you’re not seeing the charges there, you card may be compromised and is being used fraudulently for Apple purchases.

I called (866) 712-7753 because that’s what my bank suggested. It only mentioned the two purchases I did make, but said that it added up to a number way higher than it should have been

I would recommend calling Apple directly to verify the charges and not use that number. The number has been associated with many scams where your card has been compromised. Usually this happens when the card is used on a retail terminal that a scammer installed a skimmer/shimmer to read your card details. Here is an example of the scam using that number.

Call Apple directly in the US at 1-800-275-2273, or if you are from another country, you can find the correct number here:

Contact Apple for support and service - Apple Support

If it has been determined it is a scam, you will need to contact your bank to dispute the charge and they will issue you a new card.
