MacBook Pro won't connect to internet after latest macOS update

Since my last upgrade every time I turn on my MacBrook Pro it drops the internet connection. It says that "you are not connected to the internet" and the "!" is displayed in the tool bar. After two or three attempts to reconnect to the internet it will connect. Sometimes it drops again and sometimes it remains connected. The router is less than 4' from my laptop so That isn't the issue. This is the first time I have ever had this issue so I suspect it has something to do with the last update to MAC OS.

What Mac?

What macOS?

if you are using a VPN try disabling it to test

A SafeBoot Start up your Mac in safe mode - Apple Support will sort many anomalies

Login and test. Reboot as normal and test. Caches get rebuilt automatically.

Uninstall all third party apps that are Cleaners/Optimizers/VPN/Anti-Virus

all known to cause issues on the macOS
