Camera app lag on my iPhone 16 Pro after unlocking

Please try a Forced Restart as shown below, this should fix any software issues with your iPhone which could be causing this to lag. A tip is to perform it quickly and ignore the slider that appears.

• Press and quickly release the volume up button.
• Press and quickly release the volume down button.
• Press and hold the side button until you see the Apple logo 

"Camera and flashlight lags: It was! Though I can’t remember which. I got a 16 Pro Max when it first came out and it was fine. Right after one of the updates is when the problem started.“

Troubleshooting iPhone After an Update:



I. Get your iPhone Serviced:

IMPORTANT: Create a backup of your iPhone prior to bring it in for service. That way, you can have something to restore it from, should anything go wrong before, during, or after the service.

A. Take this to an Apple store:

You'd setup a Genius Bar Appointment at your local Apple Store, taking it in for service. There, it will be diagnosed, and you'll be provided with your options.

B. Take this to an AASP:

See an AASP (Apple Authorized Service Provider) in your local area...

Contacting an AASP: 

1. Go Here: Find Locations - Apple Authorized Reseller
2. Click: Service & Support
3. Enter: your location information
4. See: if there is an AASP nearby
5. Contact: an AASP that shows up, and find out more about the services that they offer to fix the battery

II. Report this to Apple:

Do your Part: Provide Apple with feedback on this, letting them know about this issue.  Apple may not get back to you directly, but the more feedback they receive on this, the more they will know what is occurring, and what bug fixes to include in updates to come. Apple will know nothing of this, if you don't report it to them.

1. Go Here: Feedback - iPhone - Apple
2. Select: "Bug Report" for the "Feedback Type"
3. Comment: that this all began after installing an update. Include the URL of this thread
4. Proceed from there as necessary

"Camera and flashlight lags: When opening my camera or flashlight from my Lock Screen, it lacks for well over a minute. Sometimes it’ll go quicker if I unlocked my phone but not always. I’ve tried getting into the camera app or Snapchat when it lags and my camera won’t work there either. My software is up to date."
