Can Motion add a flashlight beam to a moving flashlight in stop motion?

Hello, I need to add a flashlight beam to a flashlight being moved in stop motion. I am just wondering if it can be done with Motion ? I will figure it out if it can be done.

Before going down that road I would like to know if it is possible ?

I would import the movie clip in Motion and then add the effect.

Thank you,

Hi Ben!

Here's the initial project I built (used above):

Very basic and there is an issue that will probably need to be worked out. It involves the Zoom Blur but I think I know how to work that out. If you move the position from center screen, the zoom blur will not match the "flashlight beam". I think I need to link the Start Point of the Replicator and the Zoom Blur Center to a separate OSC (been experimenting — this seems to be working!).

The Rotation of the flashlight will need to be changed from the Group to the Replicator (Y & Z). I know that sounds weird (it is) - the "light" is oriented along the X-axis and the X plane orientation needs to be maintained to avoid parallax issues in 3D space.

Be happy to discuss it further … if necessary ;)
