Refer to "Size and Weight" in iPad Air - Technical Specifications - Apple. Weight the force consequence of things with mass, so your question is a bit confusing.

I to am reading it that way but since the iPad is not a device to weigh items, it is confusing.

I surmise an answer would be a function of the direction in which that force is applied, relative to the orientation of the iPad.
