Syncing Apple Music from iPhone to Mac

I have an iPhone 15 Plus (OS 18.3.1) and a Mini Mac (OS 15.3.1). Both are syncing to the same Apple Music account. Song ratings and playlist changes are updated from on to the other immediately.

However, play counts and last play dates are not updating. I have seen previous questions about this and have done a hard reset of the iPhone. I have powered both down and back up. Occasionally I will get an update to the play count of the first song played, but nothing after that.

I have over 25,000 songs in my play list and rely extensively on smart playlists to rotate through the least often played and least recently played date fields.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
