Documents and Facts take 37.1GB storage space after uploading video’s to YouTube…

I was uploading video’s to YouTube and also remove the video’s “after” they’re uploaded,(deleted files included) but for some reason my storage was full, which I realized because 4 of my video’s wouldn’t load on my editor app… That’s when I noticed my “Documents and Facts” from my Safari being a whopping 37.1GB!

the video’s themselves take up to 3.42GB or more (sometimes up to 1-2 hours of content, implying up to 15GB total… and a finished video of only 1080p is between 4-6GB… which I then upload to YouTube…

if this is the same issue the previous post I found but couldn’t reply to is the case it would imply Safari having stored 12 Video’s worth of storage space on Safari… having uploaded 35 of such videos of which 3 are pending for future days, one daily, sometimes more, since 28th of January (it’s the 25th of February now) which totally adds up to the files not being gone for a whole 2 weeks!!!

Please allow us to delete this stuff manually cuz it is long ago uploaded already… rendered and all and this storage is killing me right now, causing me to be unable to upload any more video’s :(

I am currently unable to do anything on my uploads and that’s very annoying…. Also I’m upset with Apple for a second issue and I have no way to reach out… Perhaps this place might help…

on a sidenote; video’s going into the cloud also messes me up because I always have to re-download them :l which takes insane amounts of time on a long term :(

The amount of time to upload those videos will be a function of network conditions, bandwidth limitations, your internet service provider, the hosting site, and its processing time.

That local storage will not be released until those videos finish uploading, and there may be a delay of unknown duration after that occurs before the iPad actually releases it.

An hour and a half of video content is a lot of data.

An iPad with only 256 GB storage is adequate for most purposes but if you intend to produce what seem to be lengthy and professional quality videos I surmise you will conclude much more storage than that will eventually be required.

Sad, but good to know, like ngl, being a user, not being aware of such implications is quite a thing sadly… Needing to know technicalities like this. Like k, I am able to remove / clean up some apps, tho a lot of data is hard to delete if u know ur gonna want to use it someday :’) But other things like Telegram are basically a massive storage place for links, video’s, reminders, notes etc.

Ngl, I sometimes also have “source code” fails (has had them pretty much since early days, but are very rare)

it would be able to delete an entire world of Ark Mobile but somehow keep the player data intact and reset the world to easy 😅 Or some other instances where that error got triggered.

Or me taking screenshots so much whilst playing a very demanding game; my device ends up not showing my screenshots nor saving them till I restart my device 🤓

or how often I record video’s just to have my storage mess it up having the entire recording lost, hence I choose to record shorter bits of 30min at a time..

but one very annoying thing is I take a video even if incredibly short I can’t send it to WhatsApp, simply because it’s 64mb+ or for Discord screenshots 10mb+ (a single screenshot often exceeds 10mb, thus I need to send it to an app like telegram to reduce it’s size and re-download it just to be able to send a screen to WhatsApp… (browser version)

I’ve tried before reducing the quality / size of screens / video’s but it doesn’t seem to work :l and I very easily capture 2GB of camera footage irl which I then have to send trough WeTransfer, but I can’t cuz it’s bigger then 2GB 😤

well, I just need a bigger iPad storage 😂 it’s a shame I couldn’t go any higher than 256GB storage on ma iPad mini 6th gen :) otherwise I’d have at least double that.

Clear the history, cache, and cookies from Safari on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support will remove it. That action will also cancel any pending video uploads.

So this will make YouTube unable to Publice these video’s which have been uploaded, rendered etc?

these vids should total up to 24GB worth of storage…

why does it even need to keep all that storage occupied? And for how long would I need to wait for it to be cleared out?… it’s now saved up enough for 10 video’s even though only 4 are pending to be publicized…

sidenote; second screenshot :’) just cuz I uploaded 2 more video’s after deleting some apps…. Added 6.5GB to the sum
