Numbers Formatting With Decimals

I am trying to figure out if there is a way to enter 3 numbers and have them come out in a decimal.

example: enter: 349

cell: 0.349

example: enter: -039

cell: -0.039

I vaguely remember being able to do something like this in excel ages ago but I cannot for the life of me recall how I did it or if I am thinking of something else entirely.

I haven’t found a quick way to do this either. It seems like the best option might still be to manually enter the numbers you need. Alternatively, you could input the numbers in the first column and then use a formula in the second column, like =A1/1000, to get the result as a decimal.

Yeah, the last time I did anything like this was in 2005/06 when I was dealing with entering a bunch of numbers into excel and the more I think about it, the more I think I had a separate column to enter the number as a whole and use a formula to output the number as a decimal. I may end up going that route or I may just buy me an external 10 key.
