How do I give microphone access to FaceTime on iPhone?

my microphone does not work on FaceTime other people tell me that it skips up or they can’t hear me completely. I looked it up and it says to clear debris I did that it says go to the microphone setting and give access to FaceTime, but FaceTime does not show up on the microphone setting. I’m very confused Apple help me ASAP.
