Double arrows appended to "icon preview"
Here's how to remove the useless, annoying forward + back arrows on desktop PDF icon previews
Another community member shared most of the solution for how to remove the arrows for PDF icon previews on the desktop ...
The solution seems to be under the "show view options" menu for the desktop (right-click or two-finger click on the desktop to bring up the menu). You'll find a "show icon preview" box that is likely checked. Now, what he said was to uncheck the box to solve the problem.
However: When you uncheck the box, all your pngs and other files on your desktop no longer show any previews. So that's not good. But what I found was that — when you RECHECK the box to "show view options" — all the previews are back but the annoying, useless arrows are gone. So that's what I hoped would be helpful to people.

=============
yes this fixes the problem for the annoying problem of these arrows that are appended not just to the PDF files but to ALL of the icons on the desktop. Unfortunately this is a TEMPORARY fix. Turning back on the Mac, the arrows are back so that the sequential clicking {Finder -> View (or simply Command J)-> double click the Show view options button} needs to be every time. IS there a permanent fix??
