Older FCPX version compatibility with latest Mac OSa
Does anyone know if FCPX 10.6.5 will still work if I update to the latest Mac OS?
I want to make sure I can go back to that version as I know all my plugins are compatible with it.
Thanks!

can I go back to my older OS backup and downgrade back to my previous version?
Did you set Time Machine to the date and time you want to go back in time? If you have set it, the old state is recorded and you can restore it. It is too late to set it up now.
Yes it can. I'm just wanting the option to use the older version ( 10.6.5 ) if the new version causes me any problems.
my specs:
2021 16inch Macbook Pro
Apple M1 Max
Ventura 13.5.2
No, it will not work in Sequoia.
thanks everyone!
does anyone know if I do a time machine backup, if anything is wrong with the latest version, can I go back to my older OS backup and downgrade back to my previous version? sorry if that sounds dumb
I haven't updated my computer yet, it's still on Ventura. I'm just looking to upgrade to the latest version of OS and FCPX but wanting to make sure I have the backup option of downgrading OX/FCPX versions if I want to.
I just wasn't sure if I could time machine back and downgrade OS versions.
Cheers for your help!
Is your Mac a model that can be updated to the latest OS? Please write the details of the model.
I ran into this issue upgrading to Sequoia and as Tom says, 10.6.5 will not work. 10.6.10 works but I didn't test since I decided to go to 11...like all self-respecting Spinal Tap fans should. ;)
For the future: make sure to make a zip of your existing version before updating. This way you can keep each version and it will be easy to go back if necessary.
