How to permanently remove the 'blue line box' on Mac?

I am having trouble with the 'blue line box' appearing now as well. Been into system settings and 'enable full keyboard access' is off, so it's not that.

2 Left clicks will turn it off temporarily but it comes back.

Probably my fumble fingers are to blame , but has anyone come up with another cure? It is annoying.

This merely indicates that this text item is in focus - as in, ready to accept typing. If you click elsewhere in the window the blue line disappears.

You can also change the color from blue to something else if the blue is too distracting. Just go to System Settings->Appearance, and choose the accent and/or highlight color to your liking.
