Why do I need to reboot my iPhone for wallet payments?

Couldn't make a payment to my wallet until I rebooted my phone. There have been other instances where I have had to reboot my phone. What would cause this to happen.

Make sure you’re using latest version of iOS, 18.3.1 If issue persists you need to have Apple perform diagnostics on your iPhone. It can be done in person at an Apple Retail Store or at an Apple Authorized Service Provider. You can also contact Apple Support and request remote diagnostics.

Wrong word. Should have said with a card in my wallet. Tried to pay the balance and couldn't until I rebooted the phone. On another occasion tried to make a purchase and the purchase didn't go through until I rebooted the phone and attempted the purchase again. It's a bug that has been around since I updated to 18.3. Thinking out loud, wondering if anyone else is experiencing similar problems.
