Apple TV , latest 2024, died. Just loops through boot process but never finishes, front light blinking. Seems an Apple update did this as the first thing the Apple support guy asked was if it happened after an update.

It is not dead, and it was not the update itself that caused this. Unfortunately any inference that occurs during the update process can render it not being able to apply the update properly (hence it is stuck in the loop). The same could happen to any device that faces interference during an update. Sometimes you may be able to unplug it, wait 10 seconds, and upon reconnection it can restore to a usable state. However, if that doesn't work you take the unit into an Apple Store or authorized shop and they can restore it.
