"Desktop" icon not in sidebar or anywhere else
I have a mid-2012 MacBookAir that I thought was fried so I erased everything. I was able to reinstall Catalina from the net and have done all available updates. All seems to be working well, but there are two problems that I think might be related:
- I can't find the "Desktop" folder icon anywhere though the Desktop is present and working well. So I can't add it to the Sidebar and it doesn't appear in Locations like Downloads, Movies, Pictures, etc.
- I have connected my iCloud account to the computer, which contains about 100 GB, but the only thing that shows up in the Sidebar are ICloud Drive (which is empty) and folders for Desktop and Documents. I thought I had set all iCloud preferences just like my other Macs but this one is acting differently (including another old MacBookPro also running Catalina.)
I may be missing something really simple...or is this some kind of bug?
