Chrome extension translateSandbox warning

Started getting this a while back - two separate windows. One of them takes 8 'cancel' clicks to get rid of, the other 2. I have Chrome installed but hardly ever use it and have checked it extensions but nothing with translate. Any idea what's going on?

That my friend opens yet another can of worms.

Haha! It always does. 🙂

Worse, it always seems to be financial sites that don't work as expected unless you're using Chrome. The most intrusive browser ever made, and that's the one they use to build their site around. It makes no sense.

Fortunately, Brave is built on the same open-source Chromium browser code - without any of Chrome's data harvesting. In almost all cases, sites that force you to use Chrome also work in Brave.

One source of these seems to be related to Zotero, as PRP_53 noted.

Not sure if you mean me (the OP) when you say "but the user insists Chrome is not the problem", but I have NOT insisted that Chrome is not the problem. In fact I have taken the advice offered here to delete Chrome. I'm waiting to see if doing so helps - as the problem is /was intermittent it's too early to tell.

Per PRP_53, the linked discussion is what I was referring to.

Is Brave a lean browser? No, it's also a pretty big resource hog. Which isn't really a surprise since it's also a Chromium based browser. But at least it doesn't spend most of the waking moments of your computer's up-time gathering marketing data without your consent.

99% of the time, I use Safari. But then Brave if some site won't load or work correctly with Safari.

FYI - have left this question so it is all yours

Good luck convincing OP of removing ( Google ) Chrome
