Unable to connect my wired keyboard

I’m setting up my new iMac M4. My mouse is wireless but my keyboard is a wired connection. I turned the computer on, paired the wireless mouse but am stuck at the next screen which directs me to turn on the keyboard and wait for it to be connected. There is no switch on the wired keyboard and I’mstuck on this screen. Now what?
