Remote iMac Keeps Changing Networks on its Own

As a severely disabled person, sharing is a marvelous help, but lately it's becoming worthless. I try to access the iMac in my office from my MacBook Pro, and it doesn't show. I ran this way for years with no problems. I make my way to my office (no easy task) and the iMac is on line and running fine, except it's switched itself to a different network, which should show on my MacBook Pro, but doesn't, even if I connect the MacBook Pro to the network it is now connected to. All of my computers have access to all of the networks I use, so whatever network the iMac is connected to should show in the finder, but it doesn't. I'm hoping there is a way to lock on to a network so the iMac can't switch to another.

Sorry but I don’t quite get what you mean by having multiple network running concurrently in the office. Just out of curiosity, were you referring to-

  1. Switching between multiple network segments at your workplace, eg. from 192.168.0.XXX to 10.0.1.XXX?
  2. Switching of network interface, eg. from WIFI to ethernet?
  3. Switching to different WIFI SSID but on the same network, eg. different WIFI name from multiple WIFI access points all connected to the same router?

And you were accessing the iMac in your office from a remote location (eg. from home), or your office was a room at home?

I don't run them concurrently. Just one at a time. The problem is the iMac has started switching from the one I have it set on to another, on its own. Theoretically this shouldn't be possible I've figured out how to correct the situation from another computer, so it's less of a problem now, but I have to keep checking to make sure the iMac is still connected to the desired network.
