Why do Safari opens ads when clicked on Vimeo link containing videos?

I keep encountering the same issue with a link to a video on VIMEO that I have embedded in a PDF document. When the link is clicked Safari opens to an iPhone advert instead of my VIMEO video. Even when I up-load the same video again to the same link -(advice on this site) change the privacy from Hide from Vimeo to unlisted.

There are no issues on Chrome but Safari it's either the iPhone ad or the Vimeo page won't fully load - just a blank screen. Not everyone has Chrome as a browser. IS there a better option for the privacy section where I can control access to video ie can only be viewed if you have this document?

@VIMEO - @APPLE @SAFARI any help or advice would be so helpful as this is a pitch video and it's killing our chances of looking professional, when our link looks like it has a bug - trying to sell the new Apple iPhone???

Remove any add-on VPN apps, any add-on security apps, any browser extensions, restart, and check again.

If you are opening a Vimeo link and still getting ads, check with Vimeo. They may have an ad-free tier.

Hosting on your server, or on Peertube, or another service without ads is another option.
