Why won't Apple Sports Live Activities start automatically?

I have Live Activities turned on in the app and in my settings. But I have to go into each game and click the clock in the upper right-hand corner after the game has started in order for it to show up as a Live Activity on my lock screen and in the dynamic island. Is there any way this will work automatically like The Score app does?

Live sports scores no longer appear in dynamic island or lock screen on iPhone 15 Pro I received my iPhone15 Pro last week but so far I have not been able to get live sports scores to show up in the dynamic island or on the lock screen.
